Masakari Densetsu - Kintarou Action Hen (japan) Game

Masakari Densetsu - Kintarou Action Hen is one of those weird, charming Game Boy action games that never made it outside Japan. You play as Kintarou, this little axe-wielding kid who jumps around chopping enemies and bouncing off their heads like some kind of pint-sized samurai. The controls are simple but surprisingly tight—once you get the hang of the axe swing timing, you can chain together these satisfying little combos.
It’s got that classic early ‘90s platformer vibe where everything’s a bit janky but in an endearing way. The music’s catchy, the sprites are chunky, and some of the enemy designs are just bizarre (why is there a giant walking turnip?). Not the deepest game, but perfect for short bursts of nostalgic button-mashing. If you’re into obscure retro action games, this one’s a fun little time capsule.
