Marmalade Boy is one of those weird little Game Boy dating sims from the mid-90s that somehow made it out of Japan. You play as this high school girl trying to navigate crushes, friendships, and all that drama—except it's all in Japanese, so unless you're fluent, you'll be button-mashing through most of it.
The pixel art has that nostalgic charm, though, with big-eyed characters and lots of exaggerated reactions. I remember getting stuck early on because I kept picking dialogue options at random and accidentally offended half the cast. There's something oddly satisfying about watching the little sprites get flustered when you say the wrong thing.
Definitely more of a novelty than a deep experience, but if you're into obscure retro dating games, it's a fun time capsule.
