Maniac Mansion is one of those weird, hilarious NES games that sticks with you. You pick three characters from this oddball crew—like a punk rocker, a photographer, or a nerdy kid—and explore a creepy mansion where something’s definitely off. The meteor crash years ago? Yeah, that wasn’t just bad luck.
It’s part point-and-click, part puzzle-solving, and all ridiculous. You’ll poke around rooms, combine random items (why does the hamster work with the microwave?), and try not to get your team killed by the mansion’s… residents. The controls take a second to get used to, but once you’re in, it’s hard to put down.
If you dig Zelda’s exploration or Nancy Drew’s mystery vibe but want something way weirder, this is your jam. Just don’t blame me when you spend an hour trying to figure out what to do with that sentient tentacle.
