Mahoujin Guru Guru on Game Boy is one of those weird little RPGs that just oozes charm. You play as Nike and Kukuriāa clueless hero and an actual witch-in-trainingābumbling their way through a world that doesnāt take itself too seriously. The first thing youāll notice is how bright and goofy everything looks, like the manga came to life in chunky pixels.
Combatās simple but funāKukuriās magic circles are the real star, where you draw shapes to cast spells. Mess up the drawing and you might accidentally heal the enemy instead (which, honestly, fits the gameās vibe). The dungeons are packed with silly NPCs and traps that feel more like pranks than actual threats. Itās not super deep, but the writingās full of dumb jokes and fourth-wall breaks that keep it entertaining.
If youāve seen the anime, youāll spot all the references, but even if you havenāt, itās a solid pick for anyone who likes RPGs with personality over grind. Just donāt expect a serious epicāthis is the kind of game where the final boss might trip over his own cape.
