Mahjong 64 is one of those weird little N64 gems that somehow makes sliding tiles around feel satisfying. It’s classic mahjong solitaire, but with that late-90s Nintendo charm—bright colors, chunky tile designs, and just enough visual flair to keep it from feeling stale. The controls are simple (mostly just pointing and clicking with the stick), but some of the later layouts get surprisingly tricky.
I’ll be honest, the Japanese text doesn’t matter much—you’re matching tiles, not reading dialogue. But if you’ve ever wanted to zone out with a puzzle game that doesn’t overcomplicate things, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t expect any Mario cameos.
