Magical Taruruuto-kun is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that never made it outside Japan. You play as this kid with a magic pencil—draw stuff on the screen and it comes to life, which sounds simple until you realize you're scribbling ladders mid-air to dodge enemies or conjuring random objects to solve puzzles. The controls take a minute to get used to (that D-pad precision matters when you're trying to draw under pressure), but once it clicks, it's oddly satisfying.
It's got that classic early '90s anime vibe, all bright colors and chunky sprites. Some of the later levels get surprisingly tough—I remember getting stuck on this one boss where you have to draw specific shapes in the right order. Definitely worth a look if you're into quirky retro platformers. The whole thing feels like someone mashed up Mario and a kid's doodle pad.
