Lupin Sansei - Pandora no Isan is one of those NES gems that flew under the radar outside Japan. You play as the slick thief Lupin III, sneaking through museums and mansions while dodging traps and guards. The controls take a minute to get used to—Lupin slides around like he's on ice at first—but once you get the hang of wall jumps and timing those dodges, it feels surprisingly smooth for an 8-bit platformer.
What really stands out is the art style. The sprites have this exaggerated, cartoony charm that nails the Lupin III vibe. And the music? Absolute bangers—that jazzy main theme gets stuck in your head for days. Just don’t expect it to go easy on you—some of those later levels get brutal with the enemy placement. If you’re into retro platformers with personality, this one’s a blast to dig into.
