About Lunar Pool
Lunar Pool came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, developed by Compile. It was part of that wave of NES games that took a simple concept and gave it a unique twist, fitting right in with the console's eclectic library.
You control the cue stick, aiming and setting the power for your shot to pocket all the colored balls on a table. The main objective is to clear each table before your opponent gets a turn, but the real challenge comes from the tables themselves. They are not rectangles; they warp into odd shapes like crosses or circles, complete with bumpers and obstacles that drastically alter the ball physics. You have to think about ricochets and bank shots in a whole new way because the low gravity makes the balls glide and spin unpredictably. The game starts simply but the unusual table layouts quickly demand precise planning. It feels like solving a spatial puzzle with every shot you take.
