About Lunar Pool (europe)
Lunar Pool came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, developed by Compile. It was one of those straightforward puzzle games that fit right in with the NES library, offering a different kind of challenge from the platformers and action titles that were common at the time.
You control a cue stick to shoot a ball across a variety of geometric tables, with the goal of pocketing all the other balls. The tables are the main feature; they are filled with obstacles like bumpers and narrow passages that drastically alter the ball's path. You must carefully calculate the angle and power of each shot, as a single miscalculation can leave the cue ball in a difficult position or even sink it, costing you a turn. The game progresses screen by screen, with each new table presenting a fresh layout to solve. It starts simply but the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding precise control over the physics. The experience is a quiet test of patience and geometry.
