About Low G Man
Low G Man came out in 1990 for the NES, published by Taxan. It was part of that wave of late-era action games that tried to push the hardware with bigger sprites and more complex levels.
You control a soldier equipped with a low-gravity jump pack, navigating through side-scrolling stages screen by screen. Your main goal is to fight through waves of robotic enemies to reclaim a captured factory planet. The game gives you a primary weapon, a sword or a gun depending on the stage, and you can find additional weapons like a spread shot or a laser by defeating specific robot types. Some enemies pilot vehicles; if you destroy the pilot, you can commandeer the vehicle yourself, which offers a temporary power boost. The pacing is deliberate, with each screen presenting a new, self-contained combat challenge, and the difficulty is steep, demanding precise jumps and quick attacks. Playing it feels like a constant test of your timing and patience against a relentless mechanical opposition.
