Okay, so The Little Mermaid on Game Boy is this weirdly fun little action game from Capcom—yeah, the same folks who made Mega Man. You play as Ariel, but forget the singing and flirting with princes. Here, she’s basically a tiny underwater wrecking ball, swimming around blasting enemies with bubbles and tossing clamshells like grenades.

First thing you’ll notice? The controls are simple but kinda slippery, like you’re actually fighting the current. Takes a minute to get used to, but once you do, it’s satisfying to zip around coral reefs, dodging jellyfish and yeeting your bubble attacks at Ursula’s minions. The levels are short and sweet, with hidden stuff tucked behind breakable walls (of course).

It’s not deep, but for a Disney tie-in, it’s way more fun than it has any right to be. Just don’t expect the plot to make sense—Ariel’s out here fighting octopi like it’s personal.
