Okay, so The Little Mermaid on Game Boy is this weirdly fun little action game where you play as Ariel—but not the singing, lovesick version. She’s basically a tiny underwater wrecking ball, swimming around blasting enemies with bubbles and tossing clams at crabs like some kind of aquatic superhero.
It’s short and simple, but the controls actually feel good once you get used to them. You’ll dodge jellyfish, collect pearls (because of course), and even temporarily turn human in one level, which is hilarious because she moves like she’s stuck in molasses. Ursula’s fight is way harder than it has any right to be for a Disney game, though—expect some Game Over screens.
Honestly, it’s a solid hidden gem if you’re into retro Capcom stuff. Just don’t go in expecting deep storytelling.
