About Life Force
Life Force came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986, developed and published by Konami. It was part of that wave of side scrolling shooters that filled the NES library, a follow up to the arcade game Salamander.
You pilot the Vic Viper starship through horizontally and vertically scrolling stages. Your main goal is to survive the onslaught of alien forces and destroy the core in each level's boss. Key mechanics include collecting power ups that change your weapon, like a spread shot or lasers, and a two player co op mode where a second player controls the Roadbuster ship. The game is known for its relentless pace and organic, pulsating level design filled with narrow passages and swarming enemies. Navigating the tight corridors while managing your firepower creates a tense, absorbing experience.
