Lemmings is one of those games that looks simple until you realize how deep it goes. You’ve got these little green-haired guys mindlessly marching toward cliffs, lava, or whatever else will kill them—and it’s your job to stop them. Assign roles like builders, blockers, or diggers to reroute the herd, and watch as they either make it home or plummet to their doom (which, honestly, never stops being funny).

The first few levels ease you in, but before long, you’re sweating over pixel-perfect timing and trying not to waste a single lemming. The NES version’s controls take some getting used to, but once it clicks, you’ll be hooked. It’s equal parts strategy and chaos.
