About Legendary Wings
Capcom released Legendary Wings for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986. It was part of that era when developers were figuring out how to translate arcade shooters to the home console. You get a side scrolling shooter mixed with overhead exploration stages, which was a pretty common setup back then.
You control a winged hero flying through levels, shooting down waves of enemies and dodging their fire. The main goal is to defeat the evil dark lord who has thrown the world into chaos. The game switches between horizontal shooter sections and slower, top down areas where you explore screen by screen, find keys to unlock doors, and battle larger enemies. It gets difficult quickly, with enemy patterns that require precise movement and memorization. Playing it feels like a constant test of your reflexes and patience.
