Ever heard of Legend of Prince Valiant on the NES? It’s one of those obscure European releases that slipped under the radar—probably because it’s based on an old animated series nobody remembers. You play as Prince Valiant, swinging a sword through side-scrolling levels that feel like a watered-down Castlevania without the cool monsters.
The controls are stiff, and the hit detection is… questionable. But hey, if you’re into retro curiosities or just love punishing yourself with janky 8-bit platforming, it’s got a weird charm. The music’s forgettable, but the sprite work isn’t terrible for a late-era NES game. Just don’t expect to be blown away.
Honestly, I only finished it out of sheer stubbornness.
