Last Action Hero came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, published by Sony Imagesoft. It was one of many movie tie-ins from that era, a time when the NES was still a dominant console but newer systems were starting to appear. You control Jack Slater, moving through side-scrolling levels where you punch and shoot enemies. Your main goal is to stop the villain Benedict from using a magic ticket to enter the real world. You explore areas screen by screen, often backtracking to find keys or new paths after gaining certain items.
