About Kyuukyoku Harikiri Stadium - Heisei Gannen Ban (japan)
Kyuukyoku Harikiri Stadium - Heisei Gannen Ban came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, published by Taito. It was part of that wave of late 80s NES games that experimented with blending genres, in this case combining baseball with a puzzle challenge.
You control a single batter at a time, trying to hit baseballs pitched by a robotic machine. The main objective is to clear stages by hitting the ball into specific colored zones on the field, which are arranged in puzzle like patterns. Two key mechanics are the ability to aim your swing with the D pad and the need to hit balls in a particular sequence to break the stage blocks. The game moves quickly, and the difficulty ramps up as the pitching speed increases and the target patterns become more complex. It feels like a race against the machine, where a single mistimed swing can end your turn.
