This one's a weird little gem—Kunio-kun No Jidaigeki Dayo Zenin Shuugou! takes the usual street brawler antics of the Kunio-kun series and throws it into feudal Japan. You still get that classic beat-'em-up feel, but now you're smacking around samurai and ninjas instead of delinquents. The sprites are tiny but full of that old-school charm, and the controls are simple enough that you'll be cracking skulls within seconds.

What surprised me was how much personality they packed into a Game Boy game. The dialogue (if you can read Japanese) has that same goofy tone the series is known for, and some of the enemy designs are just ridiculous—like a sumo wrestler in a loincloth who somehow moves faster than he should. It's not the deepest brawler out there, but it’s a fun twist on the formula if you’re into retro stuff. Just don’t expect a deep story—this is pure, dumb action.

Definitely one for Kunio-kun fans or anyone who misses when games didn’t take themselves too seriously.
