About Krazy Kreatures
Krazy Kreatures came out for the NES in 1990, developed by Kotobuki Systems and published by Sammy. It was one of those puzzle games that appeared late in the console's life, when developers were experimenting with different genres beyond the usual platformers and action titles.
You control a cursor to swap adjacent creatures on a grid, aiming to match three or more of the same type to clear them before the board fills completely. The game mixes action and strategy; you are constantly managing the rising tide of new creatures while planning your matches under pressure. Key mechanics include the time bonus phase, which activates after clearing a set number of creatures and lets you score extra points in a frantic scramble, and the evolving board layouts that introduce new shapes and faster filling rates as you advance. The pacing is relentless, especially in later stages where the speed forces quick decisions. Playing it feels like a race against a creeping, colorful invasion.
