About Konami Ice Hockey
Konami Ice Hockey came out for the Game Boy in 1990, developed and published by Konami. It was one of the many sports titles that tried to translate a fast team game onto the small, monochrome screen. You got a simple hockey experience that fit right in your pocket, which was the main appeal back then.
You control a team of five players, skating up and down the rink trying to score on the opposing goal. The main objective is to win the match by outscoring your opponent. Signature mechanics include body checking to steal the puck and a dedicated button for a slapshot that is powerful but harder to aim. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the computer opponent can be surprisingly aggressive, making you work for every goal. It feels like a quick, physical scramble where a single lucky shot can change everything.
