Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside is one of those late '90s N64 basketball games that somehow nails the arcade-y feel while still making you work for those buckets. You start off with Kobe on the cover, obviously, but the roster’s packed with other '90s legends—just don’t expect perfect accuracy since some names are… creatively adjusted. The controls take a second to click, especially the awkward free-throw mechanic, but once you get the hang of it, the fast breaks feel surprisingly smooth for an early 3D sports game.
What’s cool is how it leans into that era’s vibe—chunky player models, exaggerated dunks, and a soundtrack that’s pure late-night ESPN highlights. Play now mode is where I spent most of my time, but there’s a full season if you’re into that grind. Just don’t expect modern depth—this is pure, nostalgic pick-up-and-play stuff. Perfect for couch multiplayer if you’ve got a friend who won’t rage quit after you drop 50 with Kobe.
