Knockout Kings 2000 on N64 is one of those boxing games that actually makes you feel like you're in the ring—well, as much as you can with blocky late-'90s 3D models. The controls are surprisingly tight once you get the hang of weaving and countering, though I definitely ate a few uppercuts before figuring out the timing.
What I love is the roster—real legends like Roy Jones Jr. and Sugar Ray Leonard, plus some fictional brawlers who hit like trucks. The career mode’s got this old-school charm where you work your way up from dingy gyms to packed arenas, and landing that perfect one-two combo for a knockout? Still satisfying, even now.
Just don’t expect flashy modern graphics. The animations are stiff by today’s standards, but the punches have weight, and the crowd noise ramps up when you’re trading blows in the final round. It’s a solid pick if you miss when boxing games were more about footwork than microtransactions.
