Knife Edge - Nose Gunner is one of those N64 arcade shooters that never made it outside Japan, which is a shame because it’s a total adrenaline rush. You’re stuck in the gunner seat of a futuristic fighter, blasting everything that moves while the plane does all the flying for you—classic on-rails chaos.
The first mission throws you straight into a swarm of enemy ships, and the controls are simple enough that you’ll be dodging missiles and lining up shots within seconds. What I love is how the screen fills with explosions and debris when you nail a hit—feels like you’re in some over-the-top anime dogfight. The difficulty ramps up fast though, so don’t expect to coast through without sweating a little.
If you’ve got a soft spot for ’90s arcade shooters or just want something loud and flashy, this one’s worth a spin. Just don’t blame me when your thumbs start cramping.
