Kirby's Pinball Land came out for the Game Boy in 1993, developed by HAL Laboratory. It was one of those many spin-offs that tried something different with a familiar character, fitting right into the portable library of the time where you saw a lot of simple, repeatable concepts.

You control the flippers to bounce Kirby himself around three themed tables, each split into multiple screens. The main goal is to fight the boss waiting at the end of each table by hitting bumpers and targets to raise a gate. Key mechanics include launching Kirby into sub-games for bonus points and navigating him through warp stars to access new areas. The game moves quickly, and it can get quite difficult to make precise shots as the tables get more complex. It feels satisfying to finally nail a tricky ricochet and watch Kirby soar into a new section.
