Kirby's Dream Land on Game Boy is one of those games that just feels right—simple, colorful, and weirdly satisfying to play even now. You start off as this little pink blob who can suck up enemies and either spit them out or steal their abilities, which is way more fun than it sounds. The first time I turned into a fireball after swallowing some random torch enemy, I just grinned.

The levels are short and sweet, full of those bouncy little tunes that stick in your head. It’s not super hard (you can breeze through it in an afternoon), but there’s something about the way Kirby floats around, chewing up everything in sight, that never gets old. And yeah, it’s basically the reason we got all those later Kirby games—this one started the whole "inhale your problems" trend.

If you’ve got a Game Boy lying around, or even just an emulator, it’s still a great little time capsule of early ‘90s charm. Just try not to hum the Green Greens theme for days afterward.
