Kinnikuman - Muscle Tag Match is one of those early NES wrestling games that feels janky now but was kind of a big deal back in the day. It's based on the Kinnikuman manga and anime, so you get all those ridiculous muscle-bound characters throwing each other around the ring. The controls are what you'd expect from an 8-bit wrestling game—clunky but weirdly satisfying once you get the timing down.
You pick tag teams, which is fun because some of the wrestlers have these over-the-top special moves straight out of the anime. The sprites are tiny but surprisingly detailed for the era, and the ring actually bounces when you slam someone. It's not deep by modern standards, but there's something charming about how hard it leans into the source material's absurdity.
If you're into retro wrestling games or just love Kinnikuman's brand of nonsense, this one's a neat little time capsule.
