About King Of Kings (japan)
King of Kings came out in 1988 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, a Japan only release from Namco. It was part of that wave of strategy and role playing games that tried to capture a more complex, thoughtful style of play on the console.
You control a king leading his armies across a map of the ancient world. Your main goal is to conquer all the rival kingdoms. The game plays out in two distinct phases: a strategic map where you manage your territories and move armies, and tactical battles that switch to a side view when forces meet. You collect resources, build up your cities, and engage in turn based combat. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be steep as you balance expansion with defense.
