King Of Fighters, The - Heat Of Battle (europe) Game

So, King of Fighters: Heat of Battle on the Game Boy—yeah, it’s a stripped-down version of the arcade classic, but honestly? It’s kind of impressive what they squeezed into that little cartridge. You’ve got a handful of SNK’s iconic fighters (Terry, Iori, Kyo, etc.), and the controls are… well, as good as they could be on two buttons. Expect a lot of jump-kick spam because, let’s be real, that’s how most Game Boy fighters go.
The sprites are tiny but weirdly detailed—like, you can still tell who’s who, even if everyone moves like they’re wading through syrup. The music’s got that classic SNK vibe, just way more beepy. It’s not the best way to play KoF, but if you’re stuck on a road trip with nothing but a Game Boy, it’ll do in a pinch.
Fun fact: The AI cheats. A lot. You’ve been warned.
