About King Neptunes Adventure
King Neptune's Adventure was a Nintendo Entertainment System release from the late 1980s, developed by Sachen. It arrived during a period when many developers were experimenting with side-scrolling action games, and it fits squarely into that category without much fanfare.
You control King Neptune himself, navigating through nine side-scrolling levels to recover his stolen magical orb and eight other artifacts. Your main tools are bouncing lightshots for attacking enemies and a limited supply of bubble bombs that you can detonate on command. You shoot specific enemies to collect health and bombs, and you must find keys to unlock doors, which adds a light adventure element.
