So King Kong 2: Ikari no Megaton Punch is this weird little Japan-only Famicom game that kinda-sorta borrows from King Kong Lives—but mostly just does its own thing. You play as Kong smashing through cities, tanks, helicopters, the usual. The "Megaton Punch" part? Yeah, that's your screen-clearing super move, and it feels as ridiculous as it sounds.
First time I booted it up, I expected some janky licensed game, but it's actually got this weird charm. The sprites are chunky, the music’s got that classic NES energy, and the controls are... well, they’re fine. Not amazing, but you get used to it. The real fun is just wrecking everything in sight while Kong grunts like he’s lifting weights.
Definitely one of those "so bad it's good" retro experiences. If you’re into obscure Famicom oddities, this one’s a trip.
