About Kid Niki 2
Kid Niki 2 came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System, published by Taito. It was part of that wave of side-scrolling action games that filled the NES library, a straightforward sequel to the original Radical Ninja. You control Kid Niki, a young ninja with a spinning sword attack, on a mission to rescue Princess Margo from the evil Stone Wizard. The game is structured as a linear journey through themed worlds, each ending with a boss fight.
You move Kid Niki from left to right, screen by screen, clearing all the enemies in an area before you can proceed. Your primary weapon is a spinning sword you can whirl around you; you also collect power-ups that temporarily change your attack, like throwing fireballs or shooting a laser. The main objective is to fight through the stages, defeat the world bosses, and ultimately confront the Stone Wizard. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with precise jumps and fast enemy patterns demanding your full attention. Playing it feels like a constant, frantic dance of attacking and dodging.
