Play Kid Icarus : Journey Of A Warrior Online

Kid Icarus: Journey of a Warrior was a Game Boy release, though I don't recall the developer offhand. It came out during that era when portable games were often simpler, scaled down versions of their console counterparts. You play as Pit, a young angel serving the goddess Palutena, tasked with defending Angel Land from the forces of Medusa.

You control Pit through side scrolling levels and maze like dungeons, moving screen by screen. Your main goal is to recover the three sacred treasures to defeat Medusa. You use a bow for most combat, shooting arrows at enemies like Monoeyes and Reapers. You also collect hearts from defeated foes to spend in rooms between levels, buying items like better arrows or health upgrades. The game can be quite difficult, with precise platforming required and enemies that respawn quickly. Playing it feels like a constant, careful push through enemy filled skies and twisting underground passages.
