Man, Kick Boxing on the Game Boy is one of those rough-around-the-edges early sports games that somehow still hooks you. You pick from a handful of fighters—each with their own weird little quirks—and then it's just you, some basic punches and kicks, and a tiny pixelated opponent bouncing around the ring. The controls are stiff by today's standards, but there's something satisfying about landing that one perfect uppercut after getting pummeled for a round.
Don't expect deep mechanics or flashy combos—this is pure 90s handheld simplicity. The music's repetitive, the sprites are blocky, and the AI cheats sometimes, but that's part of the charm. I still fire it up when I want a quick nostalgia hit. If you're into retro boxing games, this one's worth a few rounds.
