About Kattobi Road (japan)
Kattobi Road came out in 1992 for the Game Boy, developed by Sun L. It was part of that wave of quirky, single-concept games that felt right at home on the handheld, offering a quick and unusual kind of challenge. You don't see many games like it, even from that era.
You control a small character who must cross a series of single-screen roadways filled with constant traffic. The main objective is simply to get from the bottom of the screen to the top without getting hit by a car. Your primary tool is a pogo stick; you press the button to jump and can hold it to bounce higher, timing your hops over the lanes of vehicles. The traffic patterns are relentless, requiring you to watch for gaps and sometimes bounce on the roofs of cars to extend your air time. The pacing is frantic, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as the roads get wider and the cars move faster. It feels like a tense, rhythmic dance with oncoming traffic where a single mistimed jump ends your run.
