Kaseki Reborn is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that somehow makes digging up fossils feel exciting. You start with just a pickaxe and a vague map, tapping away at rocks until—bam—you uncover some ancient bone or artifact. Half the fun is figuring out what the heck you just found (that "mysterious claw" could be anything from a raptor to some plant-eating dino).

The pixel art has that classic chunky charm, especially when you finally assemble a full skeleton and it animates in this janky, adorable way. There are puzzles too—nothing too brain-melting, but enough to keep you from just mindlessly smashing rocks. Watch out for the occasional aggressive dino, though. Nothing like getting chased by a pixel T-rex when you just wanted to admire your fossil collection.

It’s got that satisfying loop of exploration and discovery, where even a tiny cave might hide something cool. Just don’t expect Jurassic Park—this is more like being a kid with a shovel, pretending your backyard is an archaeological site.
