Kamen No Ninja Hanamaru came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, developed by Culture Brain. It was part of that wave of late NES titles that tried to do a bit more with the hardware, a side scrolling action game with a ninja theme. You control a young ninja on a quest to rescue a kidnapped princess. The game plays out screen by screen; you move to the edge and the next area loads. You explore multi level stages, jumping between platforms and descending into subterranean areas, all while collecting power ups and special items to help you progress.
