Kabuki Quantum Fighter came out in 1990 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Human Entertainment. It was part of that wave of late NES action games that tried to mix different genres, in this case platforming with a unique combat system.

You control a special operative whose consciousness is projected into a computer system to stop a virus. You move through the system's circuits, which are laid out as platforming levels you clear screen by screen. Your main weapon is your hair, which you can whip as a mid-range attack to break blocks and defeat the various robotic enemies. You also find power-ups that change your hair's properties, letting you shoot projectiles or extend its reach. The game is quite fast and the platforming requires precise jumps, with some sections being unforgiving if you miss. Navigating the digital world with a hair whip gives the action a strange, tactile feel.
