Juuryoku Soukou Metal Storm is one of those weird, forgotten NES gems that never made it outside Japan. It's a side-scrolling mech shooter where you control this tank-like robot that can flip gravity—one second you're rolling along the ground, the next you're blasting enemies from the ceiling. The controls take a minute to get used to, but once it clicks, flipping back and forth to dodge bullets feels surprisingly smooth.
What really stands out is how chaotic it gets. Enemy patterns are relentless, and the screen fills up with lasers and explosions fast. The music’s got that classic NES synth energy too—tense, pulsing, and just the right amount of cheesy. If you're into tough-but-fair retro shooters, this one’s worth digging up.
