Jungle no Ouja Tarchan is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that slipped under the radar—probably because it never left Japan. You play as Tarchan, this jungle warrior dude who swings vines, throws spears, and fights off wild animals. The controls are simple, but the levels get surprisingly tough once you hit the later stages.
First thing you’ll notice? The music slaps. It’s got that classic Game Boy chiptune energy, all bouncy and upbeat. The sprites are tiny but full of personality—Tarchan’s got this goofy little run animation that somehow makes dodging crocodiles way more fun than it should be.
It’s not some deep RPG or anything, just a solid action-platformer with enough challenge to keep you retrying levels. If you’re into obscure retro stuff, this one’s a neat little time capsule.
