Jungle Book on NES is basically Pitfall but with Mowgli running around the jungle instead of some random explorer. You’re swinging on vines, jumping over snakes (because of course there are snakes), and dodging these weirdly out-of-place prickly pear cacti—like, who put those in an Indian rainforest? The whole thing feels a little janky, but in that nostalgic NES way.
You start off chucking single bananas at monkeys (yes, really), but eventually find upgrades like double banana shots and coconuts—because nothing says "jungle survival" like a boomerang banana. Mostly you’re just collecting gems and hunting down some guy at the end of each level while trying not to faceplant into spikes. It’s not the deepest game, but it’s got that old-school charm if you’re into that.
Honestly, half the fun is laughing at how bananas (pun intended) the whole thing is.
