About Joe & Mac - Caveman Ninja (europe)
Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, published by Data East. It was a time when side-scrolling platformers were common, and this one stood out with its cartoonish prehistoric setting and cooperative two-player option.
You control either Joe or Mac, two cavemen on a mission to rescue kidnapped cavewomen from the rival Neanderthal tribe. The game progresses screen by screen, with you jumping across platforms and attacking enemies. Your main weapons are a club for close combat and bones that you can throw like boomerangs; you can also find temporary power-ups like a stone wheel or fire breath. The levels are linear but filled with enemies and environmental hazards, requiring quick reflexes. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, especially during boss fights.
