Jimmy Connors No Pro Tennis Tour is one of those early Game Boy sports games that somehow nails the simplicity of tennis while still feeling just competitive enough. You pick your player (Connors is obviously the best, but there are a few others), choose a court surface, and then it's straight into quick, no-frills matches.
The controls are basic—just a button for regular shots and another for lobs—but timing matters way more than you'd think. Miss your swing by a split second, and the ball goes flying out of bounds. The AI isn’t brutal, but it’s not a pushover either, especially on grass courts where the ball moves faster.
Graphics are what you’d expect from a 90s Game Boy title: tiny sprites, minimal animation, and a court that’s basically just a few lines. But hey, it’s weirdly satisfying once you get into a rhythm. If you’re into retro sports games, this one’s a solid time-waster.
