About James Bond Jr (europe)
James Bond Jr. for the NES came out in 1992, published by THQ. It was part of that wave of games based on cartoons and movies, a pretty common sight on the system. You play as James Bond's nephew, a student at Warfield Academy, which gets attacked by the villainous SCUM organization.
You control Bond Jr. through side-scrolling levels, moving screen by screen. Your main goal is to rescue your captured classmates while stopping SCUM's plans. You have a standard jump and punch, but you also get a grappling hook for reaching higher platforms. You find various gadgets, like a dart gun, to use against the enemies. The game can be quite difficult, with some precise platforming required and enemies that respawn quickly. It feels like a straightforward action game from that era, where memorizing the level layout is just as important as your reflexes.
