Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu is one of those NES gems that somehow flew under the radar back in the day. You play as Jackie (obviously), kicking and punching your way through waves of weird enemies—some are just regular thugs, others are straight-up giant animals for some reason. The controls feel tight, and there's something satisfying about the way Jackie flips around when you jump.
The levels get pretty creative too—one minute you're fighting in a bamboo forest, the next you're hopping across floating platforms over lava. And yeah, the hit detection can be a little janky (this is an NES game), but once you get the timing down, pulling off a spinning kick feels great.
If you're into old-school beat 'em ups, this one's got that same arcadey charm as stuff like Double Dragon, but with Jackie's goofy energy all over it. Just don't expect deep combat—it's all about quick reflexes and memorizing enemy patterns.
Controls are simple: arrows to move, Z and X for attacks, and space to pause when you inevitably need a breather.
