About J.league Winning Goal (japan)
J.League Winning Goal came out for the Game Boy in 1994 from Jaleco. It was one of many sports titles on the system, a pocket sized soccer game released during a time when portable football options were pretty limited. You would slide the cartridge into your Game Boy and get a simplified version of the sport, built for quick sessions.
You control a team of players, moving them around a top down field to pass and shoot the ball. The main goal is to score more goals than the opposing team within the match time. The game uses a screen by screen view of the pitch, so the camera jumps as you move the ball from one area to the next. You have a limited set of commands for passing and shooting, and the game moves at a brisk pace. Matches are straightforward, though scoring can be tricky with the basic controls.
