About Ishin No Arashi (japan)
Ishin no Arashi was a Japan only release for the Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Atelier Double and published by Irem. It came out in the late 80s, a time when the console was full of action games trying new things with exploration and combat. You don't see many people talk about it now, but it has its own distinct feel.
You control a ninja named Shinnosuke, navigating the world screen by screen. Your main goal is to rescue a kidnapped princess, which involves moving through towns, castles, and forest areas. The signature mechanics are your sword for close combat and a bow for attacking enemies from a distance; you also collect special scrolls that grant you new ninja techniques. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, especially with the limited continues. Playing it feels like a methodical test of your timing and patience.
