Okay, so this is the Game Boy version of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade—and yeah, it’s exactly as janky and weirdly charming as you’d expect from a late '80s handheld adaptation. You start off punching Nazis (obviously), then quickly shift between awkward platforming, whip-swinging, and some truly bizarre puzzles that make zero sense unless you’ve seen the movie. The grainy sprites somehow still capture Harrison Ford’s grumpy charm, though.
It’s not exactly smooth—expect a lot of trial and error, especially with the instant-death traps—but there’s something satisfying about cracking a puzzle after five failed attempts. And hey, at least the whip sounds are crunchy in that classic Game Boy way. Just don’t expect it to play like a modern game.
If you’re into retro weirdness or just love Indy enough to suffer through some questionable design choices, this one’s a fun little time capsule.
