Man, this NES adaptation of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is a weird little time capsule. You start off punching Nazis (obviously), but then it throws these clunky platforming sections at you where Indy moves like he’s got bricks in his pockets. The whip feels oddly satisfying when it connects, though.

Half the fun is figuring out what the heck you’re supposed to do next—no hand-holding here. One minute you’re sneaking through a castle, the next you’re solving cryptic puzzles that make zero sense unless you’ve seen the movie. And good luck with the sword fights; those take some getting used to.

It’s janky, but there’s charm in that old-school frustration. Just don’t expect it to play like modern games.
