About In-fisherman Bass Hunter 64
In-Fisherman Bass Hunter 64 came out in 1999 for the Nintendo 64, published by Bold Games. It was part of that wave of late 90s N64 titles that tried to cover every possible hobby, even something as specific as bass fishing. You don't see many fishing games like it anymore, but back then it was just another cartridge you might rent for the weekend.
You control an angler from a first-person perspective in a boat on a lake. The main goal is to catch the biggest bass you can find. You navigate screen by screen across the water, using a fish finder to locate schools and then selecting your lure and cast direction. The actual fishing involves watching the line tension and setting the hook at the right moment; it's a slow, deliberate process that requires patience. The game feels quiet and methodical, a lot like real fishing without leaving your couch.
